Frédérique Constant was founded in 1988 by Aletta and Peter Stas. After four years of development, its first collection arrived in 1992; in 1994, the brand introduced the Heart Beat, with an opening in the dial to showcase the heart of the mechanical movement, an idea that would become one of its signatures.
The evolution toward a true in-house manufacturing facility took a decisive step in 2004 with the FC-910 caliber, the first movement developed and assembled in-house by the brand. In 2006, it opened its manufacturing facility in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, from where it has developed its own range of calibers and complications.
In 2016, the Frederique Constant Group became part of Citizen Watch Co. Its identity remains tied to the philosophy that drove its founders: combining design, quality, and innovation, and making high-level Swiss watchmaking more accessible to a wider audience.
