Maison Margiela
Deconstruction, anonymity, and one of the most influential voices in Paris.
Discover the story
Maison Margiela was founded in Paris in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela and Jenny Meirens.
The house challenged traditional luxury codes from the outset with deconstructed garments, visible seams, repurposed materials, altered proportions, and deliberate anonymity surrounding the designer.
The four visible white stitches on the back and numbered tags have become symbols of a brand whose influence on contemporary conceptual fashion is extraordinary.
