Tagliatore’s story begins in Martina Franca, Puglia, with the Lerario family. The nickname “Tagliatore” came from Vito Lerario, who cut and stitched shoe uppers; his son Franco brought that manual craft to tailoring, and the next generation turned the family trade into a brand.

Confezioni Lerario was established in 1994, and the Tagliatore label was launched in 1999. Under Pino Lerario’s creative direction, the house developed a highly personal interpretation of men’s suit jackets, recognizable for their wide lapels, tailored lines, focus on color, and a blend of industrial production and sartorial sensibility.

Manufacturing remains closely tied to Italy and the Martina Franca region. Tagliatore represents expressive tailoring: it retains structure and precision, but introduces proportions and colors that give the garment a much more distinct personality.
