Borsalino

Borsalino was founded in Alessandria in 1857, when Giuseppe Borsalino and his brother Lazzaro launched a small hat workshop. Giuseppe had learned the trade in France, including Paris, and returned to Italy with the goal of producing the highest quality felt hats.

The company grew rapidly and established felt craftsmanship as an internationally recognized specialty. Over time, men's styles were joined by straw hats, women's collections, and new takes on a silhouette that would eventually become almost universally associated with classic elegance.

Cinema played a decisive role in building its legacy: for decades, the Borsalino hat was linked to actors, characters, and styles that defined a distinct image of sophistication. Today, the brand upholds this heritage by combining artisanal processes, carefully selected materials, and an Italian identity with over 150 years of history.
