Founded in its current form in 1999 following the acquisition of the historic Crown Perfumery Company (established in London in 1872), Clive Christian Perfume is an ultra-luxury British perfumery house. The brand revives the Victorian artisanal legacy to craft fragrances of exceptional complexity with an uncompromising approach to ingredient costs.
The brand’s key technical distinction lies in its essential oil concentrations, which range between 20% and 25% (Parfum or Extrait de Parfum), ensuring exceptional longevity and sillage. The brand forgoes mass production costs and uses rare, pharmacopoeial-grade botanical ingredients, such as Indian sandalwood aged for over 50 years or May rose absolute.
As a distinctive status and historical hallmark, Clive Christian is the only perfumery house to which Queen Victoria of Great Britain granted official authorization in 1872 to use the image of her own royal crown on its bottle stoppers, a seal of historical distinction that the brand has retained intact across all its collections.
