Escentric Molecules
Conceptual and minimalist perfumery.
Discover the story
Founded in London in 2006 by German perfumer Geza Schoen, Escentric Molecules is a disruptive conceptual perfumery brand that upended market norms by placing laboratory chemistry at the heart of its creations. The brand was founded to celebrate the beauty and complexity of synthetic molecules.
The brand's defining innovation was launching two versions of the same concept simultaneously: the Molecule line (composed of a single pure aromatic molecule diluted in alcohol) and the Escentric line (a complex formula designed to highlight the nuances of that same molecule). Its debut product, Molecule 01, uses only the synthetic ingredient Iso E Super.
Unlike traditional perfumery, which seeks a bold olfactory debut, molecules like Iso E Super interact directly with the wearer's skin temperature and pH, creating a subtle scent halo that seems to appear and disappear periodically without featuring a conventional fragrance pyramid (top, heart, and base notes).
