Kiton

Neapolitan tailoring and exceptional craftsmanship.

Discover the story

Founded in Arzano (Naples) in 1968 by Ciro Paone, Kiton is one of the world’s most exclusive men’s artisanal tailoring houses. Its name comes from the chiton, the ceremonial tunic worn by the aristocracy of ancient Greece, symbolizing the pursuit of understated classic elegance.

Kiton’s defining difference lies in its 100% artisanal manufacturing process and the use of extremely fine fabrics developed exclusively on traditional looms. A Kiton suit takes approximately 25 hours of manual labor from at least 45 different tailors, using only scissors, thread, needle, and steam iron—no heat-sealed finishes or synthetic adhesives.

To preserve the Neapolitan tailoring tradition—characterized by ultra-light jackets, soft shoulders without rigid padding, and sleeves set with the shirt-making technique—the brand founded the Scuola di Alta Sartoria in 2000, ensuring that each young apprentice masters traditional hand-sewing techniques before joining the production line.
