Lacoste
French tennis, polo shirt, and a crocodile turned into an icon.
Discover the story
Lacoste was founded in France in 1933 by tennis player René Lacoste and businessman André Gillier. The brand launched around a more comfortable, functional tennis shirt than the formal wear used on courts back then.
The piqué polo shirt and embroidered crocodile became global symbols of a new link between sport and style.
From that starting point, Lacoste has developed fashion, footwear and accessories, maintaining a recognizable preppy and sporty aesthetic across generations.
