Founded in Geneva in 2010 by Laurent Ferrier, a master watchmaker with over 30 years of technical experience who was also a driver in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Laurent Ferrier is an independent high-end watchmaking manufacture with extremely limited production.
The brand's most notable technical difference lies in its refinement of mechanical escapement systems. Its signature movement features a direct double-impulse silicone escapement, a mechanism that optimizes energy transfer to the balance wheel while reducing friction to a minimum without the need for constant lubrication. Its manual finishes stand out for the beveling and polishing of technically challenging tight internal angles.
Aesthetically, the timepieces are defined by fluid-lined cases inspired by 19th-century classic pocket watches, drop-shaped (sagaie) hands, and uncluttered dials that embody the concept of understated luxury with no industrial compromises.
