Patek Philippe

One of the world's premier references in haute horlogerie.

Discover the story

Founded in Geneva in 1839 by Antoni Patek and Adrien Philippe (inventor of the keyless crown winding system), Patek Philippe is regarded by collectors and experts as the undisputed leading exponent of Swiss haute horlogerie. The company has remained under the ownership of the Stern family since 1932.

Patek Philippe stands out notably for holding over 100 invention patents, including the first wristwatch with a perpetual calendar (1925) and the invention of the annual calendar mechanism (1996). Until 2009, its watches bore the renowned Geneva Seal, the year the brand created its own quality standard: the Patek Philippe Seal, which enforces stricter mechanical and decorative requirements than any external government body.

Icons such as the Calatrava (1932) or the Nautilus (designed by Gérald Genta in 1976) have solidified the brand's motto: "A Patek Philippe is never truly your own. Yours is the pleasure of guarding it until the next generation." Its timepieces hold absolute historical records in public watch auctions.
