Piaget
High-end Swiss watchmaking and jewelry, renowned for its ultra-thin movements.
Discover the story
Founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget in La Côte-aux-Fées (Switzerland), Piaget began as a manufacturer of high-precision movements before establishing itself as a luxury house doubly specialized in ultra-thin high-end watchmaking and fine jewelry.
Piaget’s most significant technical and historical contribution is its mastery of extreme mechanical thinness. In 1957, it unveiled the legendary manual-winding Caliber 9P (just 2 mm thick) and in 1960 the automatic Caliber 12P (2.3 mm thick), setting world records. This technical mastery allowed the brand to feature dials carved from ornamental hard stones including lapis lazuli, malachite, and turquoise without adding bulk to the watch case.
Within the realm of jewelry, Piaget is known for its distinctive use of hand-finished gold texture using the "Decor Palace" technique, which transforms the surface of the precious metal to create the visual and tactile appearance of silk or wood.
